Collaborators

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to work with many collaborators within the fields of Physics, Engineering, Biology and Medicine. Details of our collaborators and links to their individual research sites can be found in this section.

Currently funded collaborations

Birmingham Women's NHS Trust

The sperm motility project is in collaboration with Dr Jackson Kirkman-Brown and Dr Dave Smith at the Assisted Conception Unit, Birmingham Women's Hospital.

Cairn Research Ltd.

The sperm motility project is also in collaboration with Jeremy Graham of Cairn Research Ltd.

University of Manchester - Faculty of Life Sciences

The 4D bioimaging project is in collaboration with Prof Viki Allan and her group at the University of Manchester.

Oxford University - Department of Biochemistry

The 4D bioimaging project is in collaboration with Prof. Ilan Davis and his group at Oxford University.

Heriot-Watt University - Internal collaborations

The 4D bioimaging and particle tracking work is in collaboration with Dr Weiping Lu of the non-linear dynamics and optics group, Prof. Richard Warburton and Dr Paul Dalgarno of the nano-optics group.

Informal collaborations

In addition to our current, funded, collaborations we are also working to build new partnerships through a number of informal (unfunded) interactions. Some of the data presented on this website in the bioimage gallery was the result of these informal partnerships. Links to these researchers are given here:

  • Dr David Stephens from the Department of Biochemistry, University of Bristol.
  • Dr David Logan from the Univeristy of Saskwatchewan, Canada (David was based at St Andrews University at the time of our interaction).
  • Dr Lynn Paterson from Heriot-Watt University.
